Fri, 9 June 2006 Vega - Move On Sweetheart This song is the newest one from Vega. It is the first track off of the new album, currently in work. It was recorded at Palmyra Studios in Palmer, Tx. by Paul "Pappy" Middleton. We feel very lucky to have found such a great studio and engineer to help us out and transfer the live energy onto tape. Dirty Helen - Canned Spam Of course, I like any song with Spam in the title. Damaged Goods - Lonely Dog Blues A special thanks to TJ who wrote to me. He's had some server difficulties and he gave me special permission to take the song from their myspace page. TJ, keep rockin'! Blind Dog Cooley - Scientific From their website: Mix it up and mix it up but good is the aim of the fun-lovin Jon Blind Dog Cooley and his scorching Roots Rockin Boogie and Blues band, and it shows! From the Texas-fried honky-tonk rhythms of Corpus Christi Mama to the Dick Dale and the Del Tones-esque Surf Medley to the down-and-out blues wailer Help Me, the adventurous sound on the new CD release Get Your Boogie Live! amounts to a generous helping of the blues plus. Sat, 13 May 2006 I'll post number ten tomorrow. We'll be in Phoenix with some music as hot as the weather! I know that some people are having trouble with the look of the site. I think it is due to the use of tables. I tried to remove them from the previous posts. In any case, once those posts go to archive, the problem should be fixed. Thanks for your patience. Wed, 12 April 2006 We're going to be in the City of Angles this week... and possibly next. I'm thinking of doing a show dedicated to BB Chung King and the Buddaheads. They are a band from Burbank who is top ranked at GarageBand.com and has some hot tunes. If so, then we'll do a Budda show and a 'the rest of LA' show. The show will probably post on Sunday. Thu, 30 March 2006 As promised, I'm going to be in The City of Roses for another week. I'll have a few more songs for you and part two of my interview with Patrick McDougal from PDXBluescast.
One technical note, the interview with Pat was recorded using Skype. It put me on the left and him on the right. I think I've discovered how to convert this stereo to mono so you wont feel like you have me sitting on one shoulder and Pat on the other. Patrick also wrote to tell me that D.K. Stewart, who he mentions in our interview, had emergency wrist surgery. I want to send my wishes to Mr. Stewart for a speedy recovery. And finally, a warm welcome to PDXBluescast listeners. I hope you enjoy the show. If you like it, I hope you come back and visit me again. -Jason Category: general -- posted at: 12:52 PM Comments[0] | ||
